| Summary: Value problem is of extremely complexity, which is yet obscured by the concept of “Universal Values”. Therefore, the “Universal Values” has little substantive meaning for guiding individuals to make options of values but has the inclination of leading values of people to the confusion and misunderstanding. Firstly, the values with specific social nature and contents which are evaluated in a certain stage of history are likely to be viewed as the values of transcending space time. Secondly, the view of values with divergence and conflicts is liable to the simplicity of values, in which the differences, contradiction and conflicts are possibly ignored. Thirdly, the discrimination of problems between science and values is prone to be confused. Fourthly, the transcendental ways of thinking without historical method are likely to increase, leading to the indulgence of universalism and the formation of the new dogmatism. Fifthly, by this way the despotism and hegemony are apt to obtain excuses. |
